Democratic National Convention is on, so work is hectic at the moment.

A Sunday matinee is coming up at the Astor which I'd like to see - The Red Balloon (1956) and the Flight of the Red Balloon (2007). It's showing at 2pm on Sunday 7 September if anyone else is interested.

I would be if I were in Melbourne :(
Have you see either of the films? I'm not enthused by the prospect of the later film, but the original Red Balloon is one of the classics of cinema.

Yes. Obviously an issue of VITAL importance to Australian politics.

I hope you will live equal time to the GOP.

Sorry, I am all full of snark. I just saw Colin "Barney" Barnett's retirement speech electoral pitch on the ABC and I frew up in my mouf. And I thought Howard was populist.

If I didn't already have a commitment on Sunday afternoon I would be up for it. Sorry!

I remember the original film very fondly from my childhood. I had a picture book of it as well.

Figured I'd give the new movie a go.
